End the crank calls with the phone lookup services

We all have been cranked called at least once in our lives but to actually be factual, it is probably much more than just one call. These phone calls can get pretty annoying for a household, especially if they are a recurring event. There are many people that just don't have anything better to do with their time then to sit around and get their laughs from crank calling innocent individuals. There are certain features that have been on phones for years that have helped people to a certain extent attempt to try to stop this annoyance, but they do not compare to the phone lookup. 
 

There is the *69 which has been used mostly in order to call the last incoming call number, but unless you have caller ID, you won't know what the number is and most of the time it does not show up on the caller ID anyway. There is also the call block which you could block the number that last called your phone but this has drowned out a bit because it is not able to block an unknown number. With the advances in technology, most caller IDs are now able to display the number so you can use phone lookup to see who it belongs to.

There are many websites online that have services in which you can either subscribe to or try to get the information for free, but they offer a service called reverse phone lookup. This is where you would enter in the phone number that you have in the search box on their website and their search will toggle through a database in order to pull the information that is attached to that specific phone number. This way you will finally find out who is making those crank calls.´

This type of annoyance is punishable by law and if more of those bored people knew this, they probably would find something else to get their laughs from. The reverse phone lookup services have been responsible for the peace that it has given too many people and the short vacation in a cell or a nice hefty fine to the perpetrators of the annoyance. Technology is a great and wonderful thing for those who appreciate it and hopefully those individuals who use it for their fun and games will eventually learn their lesson by people taking action and finding out their information in order to turn them in.
